Drama Club

Year 6 has started a drama club, which obviously involves lots of fun! Nearly everyone in Year 6 is taking part. In Drama, we do a warm up to help us find our inner acting soul, plus we practise little clips of acting and do lots of games. Also, we hve played 'Invisible Props', where you have to sit in a circle and pass around an invisible piece of clay, which you mould into a prop and pretend to use. We came up with a football, pen pencil, phone, shoe, hat and many other things.

Another game we played was 'Wink Murder' - you have to pretend to die when the 'murderer' winks at you. The 'detective' has to work out who the 'murderer' is. Mr Stamp-Dod and Mrs Speirs (the Drama experts in our school) were horrified by our very dramatic deaths! But on the other hand, some people couldn't stop laughing as it was just so funny when we pretended to die. In other games we played, we had to try and trust each other, as we fell back into our partner's arms. It was hilarious.

As you may already know, Year 6 have alredy put their skills to the test. They have produced a drama sketch to popen the launch of our new website. To do this, we practised and practised. When we first found out we were doing it, we were all very excited. We went through the script whilst sitting down, and then we swapped parts and pracised it standing up. It was very, very surprising as I never knew so many people in the class were so talented. It was amazing! Did you guess who our special guest was going to be before we told you? I don't think our class could have guessed before we read the script. The ideas that Mr Stamp-Dod and Mrs Speirs came up with were absolutely wonderful and really funny.

Look out for other productions, including the Year 6 Summer Performance - you will be able to hear more about this near the end of the year.
